Types of Dentures We Offer

Full Dentures

Full dentures replace all the teeth on your upper arch, lower arch, or both. They rest on your gums and are held in place by a custom fit and natural suction.

  • Best for: Patients missing all of their teeth, or whose remaining teeth can't be saved.

‍

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures fill the gaps when you still have some healthy, natural teeth. They attach to your remaining teeth and keep them from shifting out of place.

  • Best for: Patients missing several teeth but keeping others.

‍

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures attach to dental implants placed in your jawbone. This gives your denture a secure hold, so it won't slip when you eat or talk. Implants also help preserve the jawbone, which can shrink after teeth are lost. This option is sometimes called denture stabilization.

  • Best for: Patients who want the most secure, stable fit, or who struggle with loose traditional dentures.

‍

Signs You May Need Dentures

  • You're missing most or all of your teeth
  • You have several damaged or failing teeth
  • Chewing is painful or difficult
  • Gaps in your smile make you self-conscious
  • Your current dentures feel loose, uncomfortable, or worn

‍

How We Make Your Dentures

  1. Exam and planning: We check your mouth and talk through your options.
  2. Prepare your mouth: Teeth that can't be saved may need to be removed first. For implant-supported dentures, implants are placed and given time to heal.
  3. Impressions and measurements: We record the shape of your mouth and your bite.
  4. Try-in: You try a trial version to check fit, bite, and appearance before the final set is made.
  5. Final fitting: We place your finished dentures and make any adjustments.
  6. Follow-up: We check your fit and fix any sore spots as your mouth adjusts.

Getting Used to New Dentures

New dentures take some time to feel natural. Here's what to expect:

  • Eating: Start with soft foods cut into small pieces, and chew on both sides of the mouth. Add harder foods gradually.
  • Speaking: Some words may feel awkward at first. Reading aloud helps you adjust faster.
  • Sore spots: Mild irritation is common in the first weeks. We'll adjust your dentures at follow-up visits.
  • Extra saliva: This is normal at first and usually settles down on its own.

Most patients feel comfortable with their new teeth within a few weeks.

‍

Caring for Your Dentures

  • Take them out and rinse after meals.
  • Brush them daily with a soft brush and denture cleaner, not regular toothpaste.
  • Soak them overnight so they keep their shape
  • Handle them over a folded towel or a sink of water in case you drop them
  • Clean your gums, tongue, and any natural teeth every day
  • Keep your regular checkups so we can check your fit and oral health

‍

Denture Relines and Repairs

Your mouth changes over time, and dentures can crack, chip, or loosen. We can help with:

  • Relines: Reshape the fitting surface of your denture so it fits snugly again
  • Repairs: Fix cracks, chips, or broken or missing denture teeth
  • Replacements: Make a new set when your current dentures are worn beyond repair

We work with a trusted dental lab for relines and repairs, and we'll let you know how long your denture will be away. Never try to repair a denture yourself with glue or home kits, since this can damage it and hurt your mouth.

Denture FAQs

How long do dentures last?

With good care, dentures typically last several years. Relines help keep them fitting well as your mouth changes over time.

‍

Will my dentures look natural?

Yes. We choose the shape, size, and shade of your denture teeth to suit your face and smile.

‍

Can I eat normally with dentures?

After a short adjustment period, most people eat a wide range of foods. Implant-supported dentures give the strongest bite.

‍

What's the difference between dentures and false teeth?

They're the same thing. "False teeth" is simply another name for dentures.

‍

What if my dentures feel loose?

Loose dentures usually need a reline. If they keep slipping, implant-supported dentures can hold them firmly in place.

‍

Does insurance cover dentures?

Many dental plans cover part of the cost. We'll check your benefits and file the claim for you.

‍

Do I need implants to get dentures?

No. Full and partial dentures don't need implants. Implants are an option for a more secure fit.
